Class 3

Hi, I’m Mrs James, the Headteacher.  I will be teaching Class 3 until Christmas, when Mrs Soppitt returns from maternity leave.  Also, in my class is Miss Minns who offers TA support in lessons as well as supervising children before and after school as well as at break times.

In Class 3, children will:

  • Learn times tables up to 12 x 12 (Year 4s will take a government test at the end of the year).
  • Literacy – Become confident writers checking, editing and improving their work.
  • Read fluently without needing to slow down to blend sounds.
  • Learn about our world and society.

For homework, the children in my class will need to:

Read – with a signed reading record at least four times each week.

Timetables – Practice using TT Rockstars

Handwriting – Practice using Letterjoin

Common Exception Words – Learn all the words for Year 3 and 4 children.

Should you need any other information whilst your child is in Class 3 please don’t hesitate to contact me on Class Dojo or make an appointment to come and see me.

Please view our galleries to find out what we have been up to:

We had a fantastic day at Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. In class we have been learning about the Stone Age. During the trip we looked at different artefacts, fossils and models from this age. We learnt about how bronze was found and made and even held a 10,000 year old axe! On the afternoon we made our own pottery pots from clay in the style of the Stone Age. It was amazing!
