Governor – Mrs Laura Hudson

I have been teaching for 15 years and am relishing my new post as Deputy Head Teacher at St Andrew’s. I have taught in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in a range of schools and local authorities. After obtaining my Bachelor of Science Degree from Teesside University, I went on to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Education with QTS in Primary Education. My first teaching post was in Chesterfield, then in Huddersfield before returning to the North East. My recent post was as Year 6 Teacher, Key Stage 2 Leader and English Leader. I am passionate about providing our children with the best possible education in a nurturing environment that will enable them to have the skills to become a responsible, successful member of our community.

I live near Bishop Auckland and grew up in the area. I am married and have two young children. I love being a ‘mammy’ and see the importance of having happy children from both a parent and teacher point of view.
